It is said that ALA can be converted into DHA and EPA in the body. This process is supposed to be inefficient. I personally would not take Flax seed for increasing you romega 3 levels. I would take a salmon oil or krill oil supplement.

    I really do believe that flax seed is good for you. All the benefits I explained above give good reason to add the flax to your diet. First important to note is flax is better ground because the seeds can actually go through your body without breaking down. You should grind the seeds as you use them. The oil is said to go bad quick. SO get yourself a grinder they are pretty cheap and do it yourself. I love to add flax to my morning yogurt. It is really good on salads. Some make muffins with the flaxseed and there are many other ways to incorporate flax into your diet. SO give it a go and increase your health.

    I would stick to the flaxseed and stay off the flax oil. The fiber is so good for you that by taking the oil you are losing out on one of the best qualities of flax.

    Fish oil and Krill Oil.

    If you are looking to increase your omega 3 levels to reap all the excellent health benefits? I would use krill oil or fish oil (salmon oil). These 2 have been show to be high in the good omega 3 fats. DHA and EPA have been proven to help with many of our big diseases of today.
